Our Initiatives For An Eco-Friendly Move

Palo Alto’s Top-rated Green Moving Company

Using reusable containers

Moving will require some boxes but you can cut down on the amount of cardboard boxes used by using reusable plastic storage bins and suitcases you already have to pack some of your belongings. When you move locally, we provide wardrobe boxes to move your clothing from the wardrobe closet.

Using shipping boxes received

Online shopping has become a standard part of modern life. If you have a move coming up, be sure to start saving some of the boxes you receive with your online orders. A great way to store them would be to break them down and store them out of sight until it is time to use them.

Get used boxes

Neighborhood community groups in social media or Apps like Next door are great sources to get used boxes. Be sure to check/ post to see if anyone has used boxes you could pick up.

Be creative

Creative use of simple household items such as towels, linens, comforters, clothing and even newspaper can be used as packing material. When packing fragile items such as glassware, china etc, towels and newspaper can be used to fill empty spaces in the boxes.

Donate unwanted items

A move is a perfect time to purge and get rid of unwanted items. Having less will help make your move simple and streamlined. For items that can be sold, consider yard sale. You can also consider donating items that dont sell to a local charity. This will ensure that any unwanted items get a second life and reduce their chance of ending up in a landfill.

Hire a green moving company

Using an environmentally conscious mover is one of the best ways to make a smaller environmental impact with your move. At One Move we are committed to eco-friendly practices.

Recycling after

Recycling boxes after the move is just as important. After your move, be sure to see if any of your friends or neighbors need moving boxes by offering them up in social media group or Nextdoor. Be sure to check with local schools or libraries since they might need boxes.

The Choice Of Your Moving Company Is Very Important

Some companies don’t pay much attention to the environment. But some do. So, make sure that you choose an Eco-friendly moving company. And ask them what steps are they taking to make the move greener. As more and more consumers like you take interest in greener moving options, you are taking a step in the right direction in reducing the environmental footprint.

There are many green moving tips that both you and your moving company can employ. So, make sure that the company does its part.

Why can't all businesses operate as well as this one....

I'm an SF Realtor, and have used, and have referred clients to One Move Movers for years. Kobi (the founder) and his Operational Team; Dia, Fran and Ray are all exceptional and never miss a beat. They really understand the many intricicies of moving and make the process both organized and smooth.

Having worked with at least a dozen other moving companies over the years, Kobi's Team is the best I've encountered. This would include many moving companies like Shamrock that charge a good deal more.

I have to add, I was just overseeing a clients move, who was out of the country, and was lucky enough to have Domingo and his Team do the physical part of the move. My client had nearly 50 pieces of art, and lots of furniture that needed to be broken done and set up. These guy were super organized, efficient and carefully/ skillfully handled all of the items.

Thank you Kobi & Team! I remain your biggest fan.

Verified We were feeling we were about to be scammed by another moving company and booked One Move Movers at the last minute. The day before. Their prices are really fair. I had a nice conversation with Tony when booking them. Domingo and his crew showed up on time and they completely took the stress out of moving. Domingo was sensitive and empathic to a challenging situation. They went above and beyond to make us feel taken care of. I'm so glad we found them!

I have now used one move movers twice. Each Time involved going to multiple places, not an easy move for anyone. From the beginning, this company was refreshingly communicative and supportive. The scheduling was easy. The paperwork was easy. And most important the moves went off without a hitch. I’ve moved many times in my life and without question these moves were the easiest and least stressful of any moves I’ve had.

The entire crew from Domingo to his two team members were fantastic. As I’m disabled, they made sure I had a place to sit. They ask the right questions they helped me look in boxes and overall they were just fantastic.

Without Reservation I would highly recommend one move movers and I will use them again in the future.

I had the pleasure of Mely, Cesar, and Martin managing my move recently, because these guys were AWESOME. They showed up on time, worked very efficiently, and even helped with additional packing that I wasn't able to complete before my move-in time. None of my items were damaged in the process thanks to their care and attention to detail. In addition to the great moving work, they were very professional and friendly. Five stars all around, and I would highly recommend One Move Movers to anyone in the Bay Area. Thank you so much guys!

I was super impressed with these guys! Barry gave me a very clear honest and fair price for moving my piano. He was the least expensive of 4 moving business’s I called. He and Trey came at the agreed-upon day and time and were very professional and very organized and prepared for the job. They treated my home and my piano and me with the upmost respect. I highly recommend this company if you need the job done for a fair price in a professional manner. To top it off , both men had wonderful personalities and were very kind!!! ***** for sure!!!
