The average cost of moving a shipment cross-country varies; often it will depend on the size of your shipment (the size of your home), whether packing service is required, exclusive or non-exclusive delivery window and also the destination city and state. Free liability coverage

Per regulation, all moves come with a free liability coverage of $0.60 per pound per article. However, this protection is minimal. Under this option, the liability is no more than 60 cents per pound per article. This means that if your 50-pound flat screen TV gets damaged or lost during your move, the moving company would only have to pay out $30 in compensation—even if it’s an expensive TV worth thousands of dollars. With the free liability coverage, lost and damaged items won’t be replaced or repaired when you file a claim. Instead, you’ll be compensated 60 cents per pound per item.

Full Value Protection:

This can be purchased from the mover. With Full Valuation Protection, your items are covered for $6.00/lb per item. There is a premium paid for this coverage and there is also a deductible which varies from company to company.
With this coverage, lost and damaged items won’t be replaced or repaired when you file a claim. Instead, you’ll be compensated $6 per pound per item.

Third Party Moving Insurance:

Clients can purchase additional insurance from any third party insurance provider of their choice, up to 48 hours prior to the move date. It is good to check with either home owners or renters insurance policies to see if they will cover moves. Insurance companies have various coverage options available such as lump sum coverage or replacement value coverage with different deductible levels.

• Delivery windows for long distance moves would depend on the distance to the destination and also whether you chose an exclusive or consolidated delivery option. We offer exclusive delivery option for long distance moves within CA and to neighboring states such as AZ, NV, WA and OR. If you are moving to a neighboring state and chose an exclusive delivery option, you can expect your belongings to be delivered anywhere between 1-3 days from your pick-up date/ first day you are ready to accept your shipment at the destination. For a consolidated delivery service, you can expect your delivery to take anywhere from 2-24 business days from the first day you are ready to accept the shipment at the destination. Kindly note that the delivery times might vary if you require storage.

• For an exclusive delivery option, One Move crew will be performing both the pick- up and delivery. With the consolidated delivery option, the delivery can sometimes be performed by a sub-carrier. Your rep from One Move will be your primary point of contact throughout your moving process whether it is an exclusive or a consolidated delivery.
