Long-Distance Moving Services Tariff Provisions

Effective Date: January 1, 2026

Applicability: Provisions and rates named herein apply to the transportation of household goods on long-distance relocations between points of origin and destination within the United States.

1. Determination of Charges

Long-distance transportation charges for One Move Movers are calculated based on two primary factors:

  • Shipment Weight: The actual weight of the shipment in pounds (LBS), rounded up to the nearest weight bracket threshold as outlined in the rate table.
  • Mileage / Distance: The total driving distance determined by standard industry mileage software from the point of origin to the point of destination.

2. Minimum Weight & Volume Requirements

  • Minimum Billable Weight: All long-distance shipments are subject to a minimum billable weight of 2,000 LBS (or the lowest applicable weight bracket indicated on the tariff table), whichever is greater.
  • If a shipment weighs less than the minimum requirement, it will be billed at the minimum weight rate listed for the corresponding mileage bracket.

3. Valuation & Liability Options

Unless otherwise requested in writing, all shipments are covered under the standard carrier liability:

  • Released Value Protection: Covered at no additional cost, standard liability is limited to a maximum of $0.60 per pound per article.
  • Full Value Protection (FVP): Available upon request for an additional premium. FVP ensures that damaged or lost items are repaired, replaced, or cash-settled at current market value, subject to a deductible.

4. Valuation / Accessorial Fees

Standard tariff rates cover terminal-to-terminal or standard residence-to-residence loading and unloading. Additional fees may apply under the following circumstances:

  • Stair Carry / Long Carry: Applied if goods must be carried up/down multiple flights of stairs or over a distance exceeding 75 feet from the truck to the entrance.
  • Shuttle Service: Applied if the destination physical layout cannot accommodate a standard 53-foot commercial moving truck, requiring a smaller shuttle vehicle.
  • Storage-in-Transit (SIT): Available for up to 90 days if the destination residence is not ready for delivery. SIT is subject to warehouse handling and monthly storage fees.

5. Payment Terms & Adjustments

  • Deposit: A booking deposit is required to reserve your long-distance moving date.
  • Final Delivery Payment: The remaining balance and any final delivery fees must be paid exclusively via cash or cashier’s check. No personal checks, certified checks, or credit cards will be accepted at delivery. Payment must be cleared prior to the unloading of goods at the destination.
  • Re-Weigh Right: The customer has the right to request a re-weigh of the shipment at a certified scale prior to delivery, subject to a nominal re-weigh fee if the original weight proves accurate.

Customer Acknowledgement
